I have been working in the mental health field since 2006. I have extensive clinical experience with children, teens, and adults in multiple clinical settings, including California Pacific Medical Center, St. Helena Hospital, Mills College Counseling Center, and Bay Area community-based clinics: Richmond Child and Adolescent Services, RAMS, Inc., and Ann Martin Center. I also have more than 10 years of experience providing psychotherapy in private practice.

I believe that it is often through difficult life events and painful struggles that we become open to change. You may feel unsure about therapy, but if nothing else has worked I invite you to be curious and open to trying psychotherapy. In difficult times, psychotherapy offers honest and nonjudgmental space for developing effective coping, problem-solving, and relational skills, as well as gaining deeper awareness, connectedness to others and your true self, self-compassion, and motivation to pursue your goals and dreams. One of the most important aspects of therapy is that you feel that you can trust and feel comfortable talking to the therapist. Developing trust and client-therapist connection is a process that may take time. I am collaborative, active, compassionate, and attuned to your needs. I provide space that embraces your personal preferences and sociocultural identity: cultural, sexual, gender, ethnic, racial, religious, and spiritual.

There are different treatment approaches and therapeutic modalities that people find helpful. My work is informed by various psychological theories (attachment, developmental, interpersonal neurobiology, and multicultural) and modalities (Psychodynamic/Depth Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Play Therapy. In my practice, I offer individualized treatment that depends on your unique needs, life circumstances, and personal preferences. This may involve integrating various modalities or using one main treatment approach.
